I Have Been Exiled (4-14-14)

Ola meus queridos,

Yes, it is true.  I have been transferred, or will be tomorrow.  And I call it banishment.  I am not really banished, because it is the western edge of the mission in the city of Dom Pedrito.  It is bordered on two sides by the mission of Santa Maria Brasil and the southern edge by the country Uruguay.  So that will be fun.  They tell me I will leave tomorrow at 6pm and get to Bage at midnight, stay the night with the zone leaders and get to my area on Wednesday.  It is going to be a long week.  But I am excited to serve there and with my new comp, Elder Nonato.

As for this week, it was about average.  No one came to church, so that was a bummer.  But we had some great lessons with Danieli and with Mateus.  With Mateus we taught how faith and obedience work together because he is still having Word of Wisdom issues and he doesn't really live what we teach.  But I think he understands a little bit better now.  And with Danieli we taught the Plan of Salvation.  Which went really good.  And we also went over the questions for the baptismal interview.  And she is basically ready for baptism.  But she doesn't understand repentance and prophets very well so we are teaching that next.  And Pamela (less active) hasn't been progressing much.  She doesn't want to go to church, but wants to be sealed to her kids but divorce her husband.  LONG STORY THAT I DON'T FULLY UNDERSTAND.  But she loves the scriptures and has lots of potential to be a great leader.  I wish that I could stay and try to help her more, but the Lord has different plans.

And last pday I decided to bring a little bit of Murica to Brasil.  I made chocolate chip cookies.  And for my first time making them without my mom's help they were.....FANTASTIC!!!  And the Brasilians LOVED THEM!!!!  So it was a great pday last week.

Have a great week yall, stay classy, and eu amo voces!!!

Com muito amor,
Elder Mackay
