I Don't Know What the Big Deal of Carnival is! (3-10-14)

How yall makin' out meus queridos,

So yeah, if yall want to know what carnival is like, nao sei.  I guess that Porto Alegre is not into the big parties so everyone abandoned Porto Alegre and flocked to either a bigger city (Talves Florianopolis or Curitiba) or they flocked to the beaches.  Either way there was no one in our area haha.  So we had no problems.  And I got my new comp, Elder Pereira.  He is from Sao Paulo which makes my apartment 3 Paulistas and 1 American haha.  But they are all awesome and they are helping me with Portugues haha...slowly.  They use alot of slang haha.  And my comp said to me one time, "It is good that you can't understand them sometimes, haha"  And he only has like 1.5 transfers left, so I will most likely be the one to finish him off...haha.

So this week we didn't see many of our investigators.  BUT we saw Vinicius and Jessica with Bishop and his wife and that was SICK!!! (which means very cool).  We talked about reading the Book of Mormon because they have recently stopped so this needs to change.  So that was great.  We spent most of this week meeting members because of my new comp, so that has been really good.  Except for the part when we saw a member Eliane and she thought that her husband was cheating on her.  That wasn't good, but then we went back and it turns out that he actually was working late at night so we dodged a bullet there haha.  But I think that this week we will see our investigators more.

Well that is about all from me.  It rained alot earlier last week.  And when it rains...IT RAINS!! haha  Lots of water.  It is pretty crazy.  And funny story...I love when Brazilians speak English.  It is broken and they can't say words right haha.  And the best part was Elder Iago, (the other new guy in the apartment) and he was cleaning the apartment.  Which it was pretty bad.  I could only do so much because I was like the only one who did anything last transfer.  So Elder Iago was weilding a broom and killing spiders and their webs say "Elder Moroni!  Nao gosto das aranhas!!!  I hate espiders!!!"  And he was repeating this over and over haha.  It was pretty grand.

Well that is all from this side of the equator.  I have no pics so I'm sorry, but I will take some.  Fica tranquilo.  Stay classy.  Amo voces and VAI E CONQUISTA!!!

CARNIVAL!!!! (3-3-14)

Oi meus queridos!

So I am writing at 5:20pm because carnival starts tomorrow but everyone has been celebrating for the last 3 days.  So basically almost all of Porto Alegre is closed haha.  The library and all the internet cafes were closed so here I am haha.

Well transfers are tomorrow and I am staying here in Intercap but Elder Thiago is gone.  He is going to be the new Zone Leader in my zone, so I will still be seeing him often haha.  But my new comp, I forget his name, is on his last transfer.  So I will end up killing him haha.  MY FIRST KILL haha.  I just hope he isn't too trunky  haha.

Well this week was really good.  We had 3 people at church and they are all new investigators that we got this week.  And one of them actually went up and bore her testimony.  That was pretty sweet.  Vinicius and Jessica are still doing well but they were travelling on Sunday, probably for Carnival just like EVERYONE else haha.

So I have finally found and purchased soccer jerseys.  One of team Brasil and the other of Gremio.  They are super legit and I got Brasil flip flops haha.  I knew I was Brasilian the whole time haha.

Well that is about all that I have time for.  We have to be fast because Elder Thiago still has to pack haha.  But I love you all and I wish you all a happy carnival!  Fica Tranquilo and such.
